Easter Weekend

Well Friday was Earth Day. I hope everyone did something for the environment! I did my part by helping KISS FM recycle all their old music and play old school jams all day Friday! It was about a 2 week long project but worth it!

I worked all day Friday and Saturday this weekend which was pretty good I suppose.

Easter Sunday was a long but fun day! 6:30 a.m. sunrise church service, Easter meal with my boyfriend's family at 11 a.m. Easter meal with my family at 1 p.m. (I was stuffed!) Then spent some time digesting and then spent the rest of the night with my good friend Annie and her husband and son, Colton! I adore that family!

Now I have only one more Monday to endure after today! I CANNOT wait to graduate! I am overly excited! 19 actual days until the ceremony and only like 8 more days of actual classes!

Gymnastics

So I was a gymnast for 10 years and I miss it a lot so I still watch gymnastics videos sometimes in my spare time. I came across some gymnastics bloopers which may be funny to an outsider, but having been there before, it's the worst feeling ever when that stuff happens!!! Except the last one of the video is pretty funny...I've never had that happen before!

Graduation

So last week I got my cap and gown for graduation and it got me REALLY excited about graduating...until I thought about the fact that I still have a month of school left!!! I know that's not a lot but when you have absolutely zero motivation, it is an eternity! I am the worst procrastinator of all time so I stress myself out right at the end of the semester...I'm going to try to do a bunch of end of semester homework tonight...keyword there is try...no guarantees...anyway, have a great day! I'll do my best to as well!

Crazy Weekend

So this weekend was interesting to say the least...

Friday my boyfriend messed up his knee getting out of the back of my mom's mini van. We had to take him to the ER...Saturday morning though his knee popped back into place so he's doing much better now!

Saturday I ate dinner at Johnathan's with my family and my food did not sit right so I was up from 1 a.m. til like 4:30 a.m. feeling like absolute hell! That night was purely miserable!

Sunday I took my moped out. My boyfriend and I went for a ride, him on his motorcycle (his baby) and me on my moped. We stopped at a gas station to fill up and took a side street home where he pointed out this car that was for sale. Thinking we were taking this back road to go home, I was driving on the right side of him, but he slowed down and turned in front of me into this driveway to look at this car for sale...Caught off guard, I slammed on the brakes but still ran into his mirror and snapped it off...I felt so awful that I immediately started bawling! That motorcycle is his second (I hope) love! I thought he was going to be furious with me but I apparently have the most amazing boyfriend ever because he made sure I was okay and told me to stop crying because it wasn't that big of a deal. Still feeling bad, I sobbed the entire way home...I offered to pay to have it fixed, but I was very nervous to see how much that would cost since I'm a poor college student. We ended up finding a replacement on ebay for only $50 so that made me feel better and he thinks it will be easy enough to replace himself...so right now his mirror is duct taped back into place so I cannot wait until the replacement comes in the mail!

Sunday eventually got better when I hung out with my co-workers during the storm. We were actually outside while the sirens went off...I was a little nervous but it wasn't even remotely windy by us at all. We had a cook out before the weather started getting crappy and had such a good time! I love being with them!

Monday, April 4, 2011

So it's official...I graduate college in 40 days! This semester has been so busy but I suppose it was manageable. I have to endure that 40 minute drive to and from Green Bay about 19 more times.

Well it's Monday today, and all I did this weekend was work. Like I mentioned earlier, I work at Johnathan's Italian Bistro. We have bottomless wine for $10 and sometimes it can be a problem. For instance this weekend I had to cut a lady off who had been drinking bottomless wine from 5 until about 10...Needless to say, she was a little upset with me that I found the bottom of her bottomless glass of wine. We have had a few people get sick all over our bathroom and we even had a lady fall over and hit her head! I think the bottomless wine idea needs to be revised with some restrictions so we don't have sloppy people roaming around our fine dining establishment.

I really have a lack of motivation today...I hope I find some motivation sometime soon so I can make it through the week. I just got to keep on going since I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Anyway, I really don't have anything interesting to say so that's about all I've got for now.

Spring Break

So this past week I was on spring break and Dayton was so nice and let me have the week off here as well. It was nice to have so much down time but I kind of missed being here at the radio station! I'm so used to constantly being on the go that I honestly didn't know what to do with myself during my break. It was nice to be able to sleep in each day but I did get kind of bored from time to time. I spent the beginning of the week hanging out with old friends from high school who were back in town for their break as well. It was really great to see them! The end of the week was kind of uneventful. I only worked Friday and Saturday over the weekend. Saturday afternoon I went to my friend Annie's house for her son's first birthday party! Then Sunday I spent time with my family and Brandon's (my boyfriend)family. Then finished off break by doing homework all night. I was a little upset because I could not fall asleep last night at all so I'm a little tired this morning. That's about all I have to share about my break because it was honestly uneventful which was very nice!

Oh yeah, I heard my Lifest commercial this weekend for the first time! Twice too! Pretty exciting, I know!

Untitled...?

For once I had a good Wednesday! I had a Spanish exam that I studied my butt off for y creo que yo hice muy bien! Also, I was supposed to have two presentations (with the same professor) in addition to the exam and he ended up canceling class because of the weather and we don't have to make up the presentations! How lucky is that! I was ecstatic when I found out! May 14 cannot come soon enough though! I am so ready to graduate and be done FOREVER! I have major second semester senioritis!

So I decided a long time ago that if I ever win the lottery I will build my own laser tag arena, and my own lazy river...to this day, that is still what I would do with my money! Laser tag is so much fun even when you're in your 20's!

Movies

So Sunday nights is when I usually watch a movie on my boyfriend's Xbox Live Netflix...Last weekend it was "Grown Ups" which I didn't blog about but I thought it was hilarious! I love Kevin James! Last night I watched "The Karate Kid." It was really long and kind of slow at parts but I really liked it! Jaden Smith is really a good actor for being a kid! I think he did a phenominal job in that movie!

This weekend was filled with work! I worked about 20 hours in two days...Yesterday I hung out with my cousins from Fond Du Lac...We played laser tag at Badger Sports Park and I totally owned!!! I got the high score player 3 out of the 4 games and our team won all four games! My highest score was 28,000! That was pretty exciting.

Spring break is next week and I cannot wait. It will be a whole week of nothingness (except putting 2 papers together due the following week)

Busy!

So I really don't have anything exciting to talk about because nothing exciting has been happening. This semester has been absolutely NUTS! Being a full time student, working an internship, and 2 jobs is A LOT to handle! My hair may or may not be pulled out by the time this is over.

Anyway, I have had some interesting experiences driving to and from Green Bay every day. For instance, last night I was going through a green light and a car turned right in front of me as I was crossing the intersection. Needless to say, because he cut me off, I was on his tail. He slams on his brakes and drives only 15 mph...doing it intentionally to make me angry... (even though he was the one who cut me off!) Thankfully I only had two blocks to drive before I had to turn...of course he turns where I turned continuing to go 20 mph... Now my house is only a block down, so as we get like 20 feet in front of my driveway, he SLAMS on his breaks and sits in the middle of the road. I honked my horn at him a couple times and he didn't budge. I drove around him, passed my driveway so he didn't see where I lived, and went around the block...Thankfully he didn't follow me. I was really freaked out! WHO DOES THAT?!

I just realized as well that I am not wearing the sweatshirt I wanted to wear today... It doesn't even match...It looks like I got dressed in the dark...oh wait I did because I didn't want to wake my boyfriend up...I blame him!

OK, so nothing against people who are very passionate about whats going on with Scott Walker, but I am very sick of hearing about it. I understand it is affecting people in lots of ways, but to see every post on my Facebook news feed about it, it gets kind of old. Maybe I'm sick of it because I'm listening to WHBY here at the radio station and there are a lot of callers calling in about it.

On a lighter note, it's Thursday today and for some reason I have off tomorrow at both of my jobs...Speaking of my jobs, if you like Italian food, you should definitely come in and try Johnathan's Italian Bistro!

Valentines Day

Well, it was Valentine's day yesterday. I hope everyone had a great day whether you're in a relationship or not.

The weather has been fantastic lately! I hope it's a sign that Spring is coming quick! The weather usually teases us though with nice weather and then it goes back to 30 below wind chills.

So I have decided that I need a day to just sleep. I feel like I am behind on my sleep...or maybe I'm still not used to waking up early every day.

I have nothing interesting to say today so I apologize for such a boring post...I'm still not a legit blogger...I'll get it though...sooner or later.

CLAY MATTHEWS IS GOING TO BE ON ELLEN TOMORROW!!! That should be pretty neat!

Super Bowl Champs!

It still feels surreal at this point that our Packers are the best team in the NFL! That game was too close for comfort though if you ask me! It was definitely a great end to a busy weekend!

Brats for breakfast on Friday was pretty good! I was freezing for the majority of the time but it was still a success! I'm glad the Packers won so it makes me feel like me standing out in the freezing cold for them was worth it!

Super Bowl Ads - favorites? I was a fan of the VW commercial with the little Darth Vader...

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Animals can be so ridiculous at times...My boyfriend's puppy stares at the shadows on the ceiling and goes crazy over them. She also freaks out at the "Traveler's Insurance" commercials with the bunny and the rattle snake...

Speaking of crazy dogs!

Gleek

So I have just recently discovered that I am a "Gleek." That show is phenomenal! I wish I could sing...:-(

Not looking forward to driving to Green Bay today. I heard there are lots of cars in the ditch this morning...LEARN HOW TO DRIVE IN SNOW...it comes this time every year. You think people would be better prepared.

Enough of me venting about bad drivers, I did that yesterday. T minus 6 days until Super Bowl Sunday!!! I CANNOT wait!

Really Wisconsin?

So it's snowing today...and is supposed to tomorrow...and Wednesday...and Friday...and Saturday! I've had just about enough, especially because I have to commute to Green Bay every day! People do not know how to drive in the snow!

Speaking of my commute to Green Bay, I run into all walks of life on highway 41. There's that guy who drives 60 mph in the passing lane when they aren't passing anyone and when you tailgate them, they can't take the hint to move over. There's the other guy who goes 90 down the highway and tries cutting in front of you when there is car in front of him so he almost hits you while almost rear ending the car in front of him. And then there's the guy who can't keep a constant speed so you pass him and move over, then he passes you and the cycle continues. I've also almost had a car make a lane change into the side of my car, that was fun! Anyway, you never know what will happen on that highway so be alert and attentive!

This weekend was pretty uneventful...I worked alllll weekend. Thursday night from 4 until about 10, Friday from 10 until 2 then again at 4 until 11, Saturday I worked 10:30 until 3 and again at 4:30 until 11:30. Sundays are supposed to be my days to regain my sanity from the past week but this Sunday was different. I had to do inventory at one of my jobs at 6 A.M. I am NOT a morning person by any means. Then my other job thought it would be a good idea to hold a meeting on that day too! So if my math is correct, I put in about 35 hours since I was here at the station last!

Today concludes my first week at the internship! So far, I really like what I have been doing! I am learning a lot about radio, what goes on in the studio and out of the studio. This is going to be a tiring semester though, but so worth it once I walk across that stage at the commencement ceremony!

This is honestly my first time blogging, so if my posts are boring, I apologize...I will try and get better at making interesting posts by seeing what others are posting.

Have a good day and GO PACK GO!

Getting to know Karli

Hello all!

Today is my first day at my new internship at 95.9 Kiss FM. I am a senior at UW Green Bay and I will be graduating in May. My major is Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and my minor is Spanish. I am really looking forward to graduation and getting my start in the "real world." I want to hopefully go into some kind of event planning in the future.

In addition to going to school full time and interning Monday through Thursday, I work 2 jobs on the weekends. I have worked at Justice in the Fox River Mall for 5 years and I also work at Johnathan's Italian Bistro (best Italian food I have ever tasted). I love both of my jobs a lot.

Some interests of mine include snowboarding, the Green Bay Packers, baking, gymnastics, the Milwaukee Brewers, going to sporting events, hanging out with my friends, working out, and shopping.

I look forward to gaining experience by interning here at Kiss FM and seeing what life has in store for me next!
